Under His Skin

I have a hard time resisting saying something that will get under Nate's skin... he's so cute. He has a great sense of humor too, but I think he's approaching the stage where kids think everything their parents say is embarrassing. I love Nate's response. It's always the same: "Never."

All in the Family

*WCCO is a local radio station that my mom and dad have listened to for years.

It's probably not necessary to point out the flaws in my comics, but I had to laugh when I finished this and saw how funny my arm looks hanging out of the frame of the comic. I decided to keep this version anyway, because it makes me laugh to see how awkward it looks. Other than that tho, I like this comic, especially because my mom makes an appearance. Thanks again for reading my comics!

Emily's World

I took the kids and some of their friends to the movie Saturday. We saw "How to Train Your Dragon" in 3D. The glasses were awesome, as you can see and so was the 3D! Emily especially was impressed with the 3D. Ya gotta love a kid's point of view.

My Drawing Space

I have too many kids and too small of a house to have my own drawing studio. That will come someday, I hope! In the meantime, I am on the run constantly so my "drawing studio" has to be portable. I carry my most important items in this bag:

This bag accompanies me everywhere I go and I try to draw while I'm waiting to pick up kids at school, waiting for appointments, anywhere really. But when I'm home, my drawing space is my kitchen table:

1. Set of gray Copic Markers in a home made case that I made. Yes, I can sew.
2. Set of 24 Color Copic Markers (the Manga set) that I bought with the money I made singing the National Anthem at a graduation ceremony. Yes, I can sing too.
3. A couple of other Copic Markers in a plastic bag.
4. Rapidograph pens .3, .5, .7
5. Pencil case
6. Bag with ink for Rapidograph pens
7. Lost Season 1 DVD's for inspiration
8. Today's paper
9. Sobe Life Wter, fuji apple pear.... mmm, mmm, delish!!!
10. Radio
11. Rapidograph ultra draw ink refill
12. Paper towel to clean up the ink mess I made refilling my pens.

Not numbered: MacBook Pro which I bought used from some guy on Craig's List complete with 2 years of Applecare!!!!

I draw on this:

A watercolor pad with 140 lb. coldpress.

So, that's it... not very glamorous, but definitely functional.

Spider in the Laundry Room

Whenever I see a spider for some reason my brain just makes it a lot bigger than it really is. I really thought it was huge... oh well.

How To Play... "Shat in a Cup"

We bought a box full of Star Trek action figures at a garage sale and made up a game to play with our favorite character, Captain James Tiberius Kirk played by our favorite actor William "The Shat" Shatner!!! Here's a cartoon of Nate explaining the rules of "Shat in a Cup".

In My Dreams

I woke up the other night and my significant other was snoring and it sounded just like the Smoke Monster on LOST! It was pretty weird and a little freaky to hear that in the dark of night.

And I'm sorry if you don't watch LOST or like it, but I guess you could still appreciate the weirdness of crazy snoring in the middle of the night somehow sort of infiltrating your dreams. It's the strangest thing...

What Happened at the Clinic

When my daughter and I got off the elevator at the clinic there was a delivery guy waiting to get on and yeah, he looked just like Jake the Bachelor. I can't justify the fact that I actually watched this show, but it was like a car accident. I just couldn't look away.

Just Right

I bought a couple of Copic color markers just to see if I would like them. I like them.

Hope you had a nice Easter holiday... if you celebrate Easter.
We ordered take-out pizza and wings. Mmmm mmmmm good.

P.S. Sorry this is the same "punch line" as the previous cartoon. "What?" is my catch phrase. I say it a lot.

No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

I don't really believe the title of this comic, but there are times when your every intention is good, but someone takes it the wrong way or takes it as a personal slight... arg. I hate that.

Aside from that, to everyone who reads these humble comics... I thank you and appreciate you every day!
Love, robin
